Message from Fr Bernard Forshaw our Parish Priest

I am very pleased to have been appointed by Bishop Mark as your Parish Priest here at St. Anne’s (and St. John’s at New Ferry as well). I am very much looking forward to working with Deacon John along with members of the Parish Pastoral Team and, indeed all of you. I know the area fairly well since I was brought up in Bromborough, where my parents still live. I attended Christ the King Primary school and then St. Anselm’s College in Birkenhead. I trained for the priesthood in Ushaw College in Durham and was ordained a priest at Christ the King Bromborough on 19th July 1986. After ordination I served as an assistant priest at Ss. Peter & Paul New Brighton, Holy Name in Birkenhead and St. Alban’s Macclesfield. My first Parish as Parish Priest was St. Martin’s Runcorn and for the last twelve years I have been Parish Priest at St. Peter’s Stalybridge, into which, four years ago, was incorporated the neighbouring parish of St. Raphael’s.

Looking forward to seeing you and your families. Mass is every Saturday at 6:30pm and every Sunday at 11:15am.

Fr. Bernard.
